Routing:
WIS 70 begins at the Minnesota State Line at the St. Croix River bridge
west of Grantsburg, where WIS 70 connects to MN 70. Heading east,
WIS 70 passes through Siren on the way to Spooner, where it meets US 63,
followed by the US 53 expressway just east of town. From there,
WIS 70 passes through the Lac Courte Oreilles Indian Reservation,
Flambeau River State Forest, Chequamegon State Forest and the Lac du
Flambeau Indian Reservation on the way to its junction with US 51 near
Woodruff. Following a brief jog north with US 51, WIS 70
continues east, passing through heavily wooded terrain, before pairing
off with WIS 17 and US 45 for brief distances near Eagle River.
WIS 70's eastward trek then takes it through northern Forest County,
taking a brief jog southward with WIS 139, before continuing east
through northern Florence County. WIS 70 meets WIS 101, and the
two highways duplex for 3 miles before ending concurrently at US 2/US
141 near Florence.
