Assembly
with CTH-MB North and CTH-MB South shields on WIS 142 East at its western
junction with CTH-MB. CTH-MB follows WIS 142 from this point eastward
for about 1 mile before resuming a northerly trek. Note that this, the
easternmost portion of WIS 142, has something not seen everyday on a
two-lane highway: center-line rumble strips.

First
reassurance marker for WIS 142 West, located in the median of WIS 142 just
west of I-94/US 41. The shield sits atop a distance sign for WIS 142's
ultimate destination, Burlington (17). WIS 142 starts out to the west of
I-94/US 41 as a four-lane divided highway, but quickly narrows down to
two lanes after 0.25 mile.

END WIS 142 shield and right-side I-94 West/US 41 South shields at the
Eastern Terminus
of WIS 142. Picking up where WIS 142 leaves off heading east into
Kenosha from is CTH-S. Prior to 1992, CTH-S was, in fact, an extension
of WIS 142. In that year, due to the proximity of WIS 158 just 1.5 miles
to the south, the jurisdiction of all of WIS 142 to the east of I-94/US
41 was transferred to Kenosha County, with the highway becoming CTH-S.
