Wisconsin State Trunk Highway 139


Southern Terminus: US 8 near Cavour

Northern Terminus: Michigan State Line north of Tipler, where WIS 139 turns into M-189

Length: 24.83 miles

Counties: Forest, Florence

Routing: Starting from US 8 near Cavour, WIS 139 trends northwesterly toward the hamlet of Newald, then turns northeasterly and heads from Forest County into Florence County to Long Lake.  North of Long Lake, WIS 139 heads due north through the western portion of Florence County, multiplexing with WIS 70 for 3 miles north of Tipler.  After WIS 70, WIS 139 continues north for another 1.5 miles before coming to an end at the Michigan State Line at a bridge over the Brule River, where WIS 139 becomes M-189.  The majority of WIS 139 lies within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest.
