Autoroute 720


Western Terminus: A-15/20 at the Turcot Interchange in Southwest Montreal.

Eastern Terminus: Rue Notre Dame just east of Vieux Port.

Routing: A-720 is a short freeway spur leading east from A-20 at the Turcot interchange through Downtown via an underground Tunnel to Rue Notre Dame east of the core.

A-720 begins at Montreal's Turcot interchange -- this photo shows the eastbound carriageway passing underneath Autoroute 15.  The Turcot interchange is to be rebuilt in the coming years.

Immediately east of Autoroute 15, the eastbound lanes of A-720 pass under the opposing carriageway.  Between R-132 and the Turcot interchange opposing traffic passes by on the right hand side.

The beginning of the Ville-Marie Tunnel.  This tunnel stretches 2km underneath the Downtown core of Montreal. Montreal is the only city in Canada to have a freeway passing beneath the core of the city.
