Interstate 587 (New York)

Western Terminus: Junction of I-87/New York Thruway (Exit 19) and NY 28, at a roundabout 1 mile west of Kingston

Eastern Terminus: Signalized junction of NY 32 and NY 28 in Kingston

Length: 1.21 miles

County: Ulster

Routing: I-587 is a very short freeway serving the city of Kingston.  Duplexed with NY 28 for its entire length of 1.21 miles, I-587 begins at a roundabout that links the spur Interstate and NY 28 with the connector to I-87/New York Thruway.  The four-lane freeway passes underneath County Rd. 31, crosses over the Esopus Creek, enters Kingston, and promptly comes to an end at a signalized intersection with NY 32.  This intersection also doubles as NY 28's Southern Terminus.
