U.S. Route 10 (Michigan)

Western Entrance: Lake Michigan Ferry Docks in downtown Ludington

Eastern Terminus: Full cloverleaf interchange between I-75/US 23 and M-25 (Exit 162 B) in Bay City

Length: 140.68 miles

Counties: Mason, Lake, Osceola, Clare, Isabella, Midland, Bay

Routing: US 10 traverses the central portion of the Lower Peninsula.  The highway enters into Michigan at Ludington, where a seasonal ferry service across Lake Michigan connects to the western leg of US 10 at Manitowoc, Wisconsin.  US 10 heads east as a two-lane highway, passing through Baldwin and near Reed City on the way to Clare.  Just west of M-115, US 10 turns into a four-lane freeway, and continues east as such through Bay City and on to Bay City, where it comes to an end at I-75/US 23.  There, M-25 picks up where US 10 leaves off.

Close-up of the Seven Mile Road overpass on US 10 near Bay City. The concrete arch design featured here was a common overpass design utilized on many rural Michigan Freeways built during the late 1950s.  This bridge is typical of most older overpasses on US 10 between Bay City and Midland.
