Michigan Route 37

Southern Terminus: I-94 (Exit 92), concurrent with BL I-94's Western Terminus southwest of Battle Creek

Northern Terminus: Old Mission Lighthouse at the tip of the Old Mission Peninsula, north of Old Mission

Length: 221.46 miles

Counties: Calhoun, Barry, Kent, Muskegon, Newaygo, Lake, Wexford, Grand Traverse

Routing: Starting from I-94, M-37 joins BL I-94 through southwestern Battle Creek.  In Springfield, M-37 beginsa s solo trek north to Hastings, then turns northwest to Grand Rapids.  M-37 traverses the eastern Grand Rapids vicinity, then joins I-96 for 8 miles through the northern part of the area.  After departing I-96, M-37 provides a direct route up to Traverse City, passing through Newaygo, White Cloud, and Baldwin in the process.  After following US 31 through Traverse City, M-37 heads onto the Old Mission Peninsula, ending at the Old Mission Lighthouse at the tip of the peninsula.

JCT I-94 shield on M-37 South/BL I-94 West approaching their common terminus southwest of Battle Creek, a four-ramp interchange with I-94 with diamond ramps on the north side and parclo-B ramps on the south side.  There is neither an M-37 ENDS nor a BL I-94 ENDS shield assembly present at this interchange.

M-6 East to I-96 guide sign on M-37 North at the on-ramp to M-6 East.  M-37 is the final interchange along the M-6 freeway before it meets I-96 3 miles to the northeast of here, so I-96 gets a mention on this freeway entrance guide sign.

(Exit 37) and guide sign for I-96 West/M-37 North at the Eastern Terminus of I-196.  This exit is a partial interchange, with access possible from I-96 West/M-37 North onto I-196 West, and from I-196 East onto I-96 East/M-37 South only.

Assembly with US 31 North and M-37 North shields and black-on-yellow "At Signal" sign on US 31/M-37 North approaching the signalized intersection they have with M-72 and M-22.  US 31/M-37 comes to a T-intersection at the upcoming signal, where the two routes join M-72 to form a triplex heading east from the intersection.

M-37 North reassurance marker with a small black-on-yellow sign warning that the highway reaches its conclusion 18 miles ahead.  This shield assembly appears a few blocks north of M-37's intersection with US 31/M-72, and is used as M-37 comes to an end at a location isolated from civilization at the tip of the Old Mission Peninsula.

The first reassurance marker for M-37 South does not appear until approximately 2 miles south of the terminal cul-du-sac.  It is situated just south of the Tompkins Rd. intersection.

Finally, at the back of the cul-du-sac appears a ROAD ENDS warning sign.  With that, traffic has to loop back and either enter the parking lot for the Old Mission Lighthouse, or proceed onto the beginning of M-37 South.
