Michigan Route 19

Southern Terminus: I-94 (Exit 247), at a partial interchange 1 mile southeast of New Haven

Northern Terminus: M-142, 2 miles east of Bad Axe

Length: 83.80 miles

Counties: Macomb, St. Clair, Sanilac, Huron

Routing: M-19 begins at a partial interchange with I-94 (Exit 247) between New Baltimore and New Haven.  M-19 follows New Haven Rd. northwestward to Gratiot Ave., which the state highway follows northeasterly to Richmond.  There, M-19 turns north and, after passing through the village, heads up to Memphis.  Passing into St. Clair County, M-19 meets I-69 at its Exit 184, and heads through Emmett.  After intersecting M-136 at its Western Terminus, M-19 jogs briefly to the west before resuming a northerly trek through Yale and into Sanilac County.  Following a 3-mile long duplex with M-90, M-19 goes through Peck, and travels up to Sandusky, where it meets M-46.  M-19 duplexes with M-46 heading west for nearly 5 miles, before turning north again.  Into Huron County, M-19 goes through Ubly, and ultimately meets with M-142 east of Bad Axe, where the state highway comes to an end.

Typical advance intersection guide signs for state-maintained roadways in Macomb County feature both the road name and an identification of the route that follows that road, even if the road the sign appears along is unpaved.  This is one such sign, and appears on EB 25 Mile Rd. just before it meets M-19, along the stretch where it follows New Haven Rd.  This intersection is just northwest of the M-19's Southern Terminus at I-94.
