Interstate 194

I-194 is a spur route off of I-94 that serves downtown Battle Creek.  For its entire length, I-194 runs concurrently with M-66.  M-66 continues on as a solo route both southward toward Sturgis and northward toward Ionia from the respective endpoints of I-194.  As guide signs along the route indicate, I-194 is also known as the Sojourner Truth Downtown Parkway.

Pictures on this page are arranged in order from south to north.  I-194 North photos are left-aligned in the first column, while I-194 South photos are right-aligned.  Center-line pictures are centered within the first column.  Unless otherwise noted, all high-resolution photos are 1,280 x 960.

Sign truss with M-66 guide sign, 0.25 mile advance exit sign for I-94 East (Exit 1 A) and exit sign for I-94 West (Exit 1 B) on I-194/M-66 South at the exit ramp to I-94 West at I-194's Southern Terminus.  I-194/M-66 and I-94 meet at a full cloverleaf interchange.  Less than 0.25 mile beyond I-94, M-66 meets Beckley Rd. at an intersection with Michigan Lefts.  0.5 mile after that, M-66 narrows into a two-lane roadway as it continues its trek southward toward Sturgis.

I-194 South and M-66 South reassurance markers, situated atop a "Sojourner Truth Downtown Parkway" guide sign, and located just south of the M-96/Columbia Ave. interchange.  This is typical for all of the assemblies with I-194 and M-66 reassurance markers in both directions.

2 mile advance exit sign for I-94 (Exits 1 B & A) on I-194/M-66 South, located before the M-96/Columbia Ave. overpass.  What is interesting here is that this advance exit sign for the interchange marking I-194's Southern Terminus is actually located before the halfway point of I-194!

Overhead exit only sign for M-96/Columbia Ave. (Exit 2) on I-194/M-66 South.  The on-ramp from BL I-94/Dickman Rd. to I-194/M-66 South forms a third southbound lane upon merging in with the two mainline lanes.  This lane promptly becomes exit only for M-96.
