Metro Route 96

Route 96 is the newest of Winnipeg's Metro Routes. It starts at Portage Avenue as Moray Street heading south, crossing the Assiniboine River at the highly controversial Charleswood Bridge, where it becomes the William R. Clement Parkway (formerly Charleswood Parkway), passing Route 95 (Roblin Boulevard) and ending its first leg at Route 105 (Grant Avenue). Route 96 then follows Route 105 east until Shaftesbury Boulevard, where it turns south and ends at the intersection of Route 145. At this intersection, Shaftesbury Boulevard continues south as McCreary Road, a rough, gravel cow trail that wreaks havoc with the inner workings of any car that travels on it. Route 145 proceeds west from this intersection as Wilkes Avenue and east as Sterling Lyon Parkway, while the former eastern leg of Wilkes Avenue has been abandoned in favor of the newly-built Sterling Lyon Parkway.
 
Northern Terminus: Junction of PTH 1/Route 85 (Portage Avenue).
 
Southern Terminus: Junction of Route 145 (Wilkes Avenue/Sterling Lyon Parkway).
