Interstate 94 (Indiana)

Eastern Entrance: Michigan State Line, 5 miles northeast of Michigan City

Length: 45.75 miles

Counties: Lake, Porter, La Porte

Routing: I-94 enters into the Hoosier State from Illinois in Munster, concurrent with I-80 and US 6.  Known as the Borman Expwy. for the duration of its duplex with I-80, US 41 joins the mix between Exits 1 and 2, forming the rare four-route multiplex.  The I-80/I-94/US 6 triplex then continues easterly through Hammond and Gary, passing I-65 and into Lake Station, before US 6 splits off at the IN 51 interchange.  Immediately east of there, I-80 joins the Indiana Toll Road with I-90, and I-94 becomes a solo six-lane freeway.  The Interstate travels east-northeasterly through Portage, Burns Harbor, Porter and Chesterton, and then around Michigan City to the south and east, before crossing into Michigan approximately 5 miles northeast of Michigan City.
