Interstate 290 (Illinois) |
![]() |
Western Terminus:
Junction of I-90/Addams Tollway and IL 53 in Rolling Meadows Eastern Terminus: Junction of I-90/I-94 and Congress Pkwy. at the Circle Interchange in downtown Chicago Length: 29.8 miles Counties: Cook, DuPage Routing: I-290 begins in Northwest Illinois at the I-90 interchange in Rolling Meadows. From there, the highway leads south by-passing Itasca to the I-355 interchange. I-355 is in effect a continuation of the north-south portion of I-290, as I-290 abruptly turns southeasterly at the interchange. I-290 maintains this south-eastern trajectory until it nears the Tri-State Tollway, where the freeway follows I-294's alignment until the I-88 interchange. Once at I-88, I-294 once again heads easterly almost arrow straight towards the Circle Interchange and the Chicago Loop. Links:
