Right - Entrance to the Ventura Freeway (U.S. Route 101) in Westlake Village. Typically, California marks freeway entrance ramps with a green freeway guide sign with the route number, highway direction and control city, a green "Freeway Entrance" sign, and a route marker posted on either side of the ramp. While it may seem a little redundant to have so many signs marking a single freeway entrance, it is a necessary practice. Many of California's freeway entrance ramps are surprisingly inconspicuous, particularly in urban environments. The abundance of signs at entrance ramps can also help to reduce the likelihood of wrong-way movements on ramps.
