Left - Facing south along the Golden State Freeway (Interstate 5) at the Pomona Freeway (Hwy 60) Interchange in Los Angeles. The Golden State Freeway designation ends at this interchange, but Interstate 5 continues south towards Orange County via the Santa Ana Freeway.

Centre - Entrance ramp to the eastbound Pomona Freeway (Hwy 60) at the East Los Angeles Interchange. This complex interchange is comprised of the junctions of four major Los Angeles freeways (Interstate 5, Interstate 10, U.S. Route 101 and Hwy 60) and an arterial street (Soto Street).

Left - Overhead freeway guide signs on the westbound Pomona Freeway (Hwy 60) approaching the East Los Angeles Interchange. The Pomona Freeway ends at the Santa Monica Freeway (Interstate 10), but motorists can also exit to the northbound Hollywood Freeway (U.S. Route 101 North) or the Golden State Freeway (Interstate 5).

Centre - The palm tree-lined approach to the East Los Angeles Interchange on the westbound Pomona Freeway (Hwy 60) is distinctly Californian!

Right - This group of overhead freeway guide signs on the westbound Pomona Freeway (Hwy 60) is arguably the most beautiful overhead sign assembly in Los Angeles. These old fully reflectorized "button copy" signs indicate the names of three of the most iconic freeways in Los Angeles: The Santa Monica Freeway, the Hollywood Freeway and the Golden State Freeway.

Left - Noticeably absent from the Santa Monica Freeway sign is the familiar Interstate 10 shield, which is virtually synonymous with the Santa Monica Freeway designation in Los Angeles. The omission of the Interstate 10 shield on this sign was likely deliberate. Due to the ramp configuration at this interchange, the Santa Monica Freeway does not technically become Interstate 10 until the southbound Golden State Freeway ramp merges in on the west side of the Los Angeles River.

Centre - Beginning of U.S. Route 101 at the East Los Angeles Interchange. The roadway beyond the concrete barrier at right carries traffic from the westbound Pomona Freeway (Hwy 60) to the northbound Santa Ana Freeway (U.S. Route 101). For clarity, U.S. Route 101 is just signed as the Hollywood Freeway heading northbound from the East Los Angeles Interchange, even though it is officially known as the Santa Ana Freeway for the first three miles.

Right - Facing west along the westbound Pomona Freeway (Hwy 60) ramp to the westbound Santa Monica Freeway at the Boyle Avenue Overpass. The final exit on the Pomona Freeway to Santa Fe Avenue and Mateo Street departs from the freeway just after the Boyle Avenue Overpass.

Centre - The last exit on the Pomona Freeway (Hwy 60) goes to Santa Fe Avenue and Mateo Street. The through lanes join the Santa Monica Freeway (Interstate 10) on the western side of the Los Angeles River.

Centre - Exit to the southbound Chino Valley Freeway (Hwy 71) from the eastbound Pomona Freeway (Hwy 60). From this interchange, the Chino Valley Freeway heads south-easterly along the base of the Chino Hills towards Corona, where it connects to the Riverside Freeway (Hwy 91).

Right - Passing through the Chino Valley Freeway Interchange on the eastbound Pomona Freeway (Hwy 60). Traffic wishing to access Hwy 71 North from the eastbound Pomona Freeway must do so by way of an indirect ramp via Garey Avenue. Although Hwy 71 is officially called the Chino Valley Freeway north of the Pomona Freeway, the majority of the route is actually just a limited-access expressway with signalized at-grade intersections. However, the entire expressway portion of Hwy 71 through Pomona will eventually be converted into a freeway in the future.
