Left - Overhead direction sign at the junction of Hwy 14 and Hwy 58B in Mojave. Until recently, Hwy 58 used to pass directly through Mojave. A new freeway bypass was constructed around the northern side of the town to carry through traffic between Bakersfield and Barstow. Old Hwy 58 through Mojave is now a signed business loop.

Left - Facing east along Hwy 58 from the Hwy 14 Interchange north of Mojave. From here, Hwy 58 cuts directly across the Mojave Desert to Barstow, where it joins Interstate 15 and Interstate 40. It is a 70 mile journey across the desert from Mojave to Barstow along Hwy 58.

Centre - Facing west along Hwy 58 from the Hwy 14 Interchange north of Mojave. West of Mojave, the Hwy 58 Freeway passes through the Tehachapi Mountains before joining Hwy 99 in Bakersfield. The Hwy 58 Freeway forms a strategic east-west highway corridor across Central California.
