Right - The Santa Paula Freeway has a single lane collector system through the Hwy 118 Cloverleaf, which separates merging and diverging cloverleaf traffic from the two through lanes of the freeway. This photo shows the northwest quadrant of the Hwy 126 & Hwy 118 Interchange, facing west towards Ventura.

Centre - Hwy 118 is one of only three highways that connect Ventura to Los Angeles. It is therefore a very busy route.

Right - At Moorpark, Hwy 118 connects to a freeway. This freeway heads in two distinct directions from Moorpark. The Hwy 23 Freeway heads south from Moorpark to Thousand Oaks, while the Hwy 118 Freeway heads east into Simi Valley. This large viaduct crosses the Arroyo Simi in Moorpark and essentially marks the beginning of the Hwy 118 Freeway.

Centre - Approaching the Santa Susana Pass on the Hwy 118 Freeway in Simi Valley. The freeway climbs about 900 feet in elevation as it crosses over the mountains which separate Simi Valley from the San Fernando Valley. Once the freeway crosses over the Santa Susana Pass, the freeway descends rapidly into the San Fernando Valley and the north part of Los Angeles.
